Best for
Families with children of mixed ages and anyone who likes big coasters

Gardaland is the reason many families choose the south-east corner of Lake Garda. It is at Castelnuovo del Garda, on the lake road between Peschiera and Lazise, and it tops our list of the best Lake Garda attractions. This page settles the practical questions: what a ticket really costs, when the park is open, how to get there with or without a car, and which rides your children will be tall enough for.

Everything here was checked against the park’s own website and help centre on 7 October 2026. Gardaland prices move with the date and with promotions, so read the figures as examples of the gap between online and gate prices, not as a 2027 price list.

Our verdict

Gardaland is a full-day theme park with more than 40 attractions, a SEA LIFE aquarium next door and, in summer, the LEGOLAND Water Park inside it. Buy a dated ticket online: in October 2026 it started at €44 against €59 at the gate. Uncovered parking is free and a free shuttle runs from Peschiera del Garda station every 30 minutes. The catch is the calendar: hours change from day to day, so check the date before you set off.

What Gardaland is like

The park mixes three kinds of ride. For small children there is Peppa Pig Land and a long list of gentle rides where a child of any height can go with an adult. In the middle are family rides such as Mammut, Jungle Rapids and Colorado Boat. At the top are the coasters: Raptor, Oblivion and Blue Tornado, plus the Space Vertigo drop tower.

The entry ticket covers every ride and show as often as you like. The SEA LIFE aquarium, a short walk from the gate, needs its own or a combined ticket, and the LEGOLAND Water Park inside the park needs a combined ticket or a supplement. Dogs are allowed in the park on a lead, with a muzzle for large dogs, but not on rides or in shows.

Tickets and how to save

The rule is simple: decide the date and buy online. On the day we checked, the dated one-day ticket was €44 online and the walk-up price started at €59, and the same gap of €15 applied to the two-day park and aquarium ticket. An undated online ticket started at the gate price, so you pay for the flexibility. The ticket offices close two hours before the park does.

Children under 90 cm are free, there is a reduced fare from 90 cm up to nine years old and the full fare applies from ten. Entry is free on your birthday, on the exact day only, if you show photo ID at the ticket office. The park also advertises a combined train and park ticket with Trenord. Fast-track passes, called Gardaland Express, come in three packages and work through a virtual queue in the park’s app.

Opening calendar and hours

The 2026 season opened on 28 March and the main season ends on 1 November with Magic Halloween. In October 2026 the park was open every day, from 10:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 10:00 to 20:00 at weekends. Fridays were evening-only, 17:00 to 22:00, and on 31 October the park stays open from 10:00 to midnight.

The park then closes until Magic Winter, which runs on selected days from 5 December 2026 to 6 January 2027: the first two weekends of December and 7 and 8 December, then daily from 19 December except Christmas Day, from 10:30 to 18:00. Dates for the 2027 season had not been published when we checked. Our Lake Garda weather guide helps you pick a month.

Getting there and parking

By car, leave the A4 at Peschiera del Garda, or at Sommacampagna if you are coming from Venice. From the Brenner motorway, exit at Affi and follow the dual carriageway towards Peschiera. The uncovered car park is currently free and opens an hour before the park. Covered spaces are sold online from €7 and are limited. Motorhomes use a separate area signed with the bus park in Via Ronchi and cannot stay overnight.

By train, get off at Peschiera del Garda, 2 km from the park. A free shuttle runs every 30 minutes on every opening day, starting 30 minutes before the park opens, and the ride takes about five minutes in normal traffic. The park’s two pages disagree on the last run, giving 15 and 30 minutes after closing, so plan on the earlier one. Our Lake Garda trains guide covers the lines into Peschiera, and Peschiera del Garda is worth an evening afterwards.

Height limits and visiting with children

Height, not age, decides what a child can ride. The main limits published by the park are: 140 cm for Raptor, Oblivion and Blue Tornado; 130 cm for Space Vertigo; 120 cm for Shaman; 110 cm for Mammut, Jungle Rapids and Fuga da Atlantide; 107 cm for Jumanji The Adventure; 105 cm for Wolf Legend; and 100 cm for Colorado Boat and Peter Pan. Several coasters also have a maximum height of 195 to 205 cm.

Many of the gentler rides have no minimum when a child rides with an adult. You can ask for a height stamp at a ride with the matching limit, which saves being measured again all day. Pushchairs can be hired for children under 110 cm, and a baby switch service is available for parents with a child too small to ride.

Hotels on site

Gardaland Resort has three themed hotels with 475 rooms between them: Gardaland Hotel, Gardaland Adventure Hotel and Gardaland Magic Hotel. Gardaland Hotel, a three-star superior with 247 rooms, is 800 metres from the park with a free shuttle to the gate, and its Blue Lagoon pool area opens from May to September. Park tickets are not automatically included in a stay, though packages with tickets are sold. Hotel parking is charged separately, at €12 for 72 hours when we checked.

The Adventure and Magic hotels open on fewer nights outside summer, so check the calendar. If you would rather stay in a lake town, Castelnuovo del Garda, Peschiera and Lazise are all close by, and our best Lake Garda camping list has family sites on this shore.

Where it is

Good to know

How much are Gardaland tickets?

In October 2026 a dated one-day ticket cost from €44 online, and the walk-up price at the ticket office started at €59. An undated online ticket was from €59. Children under 90 cm are free and there is a reduced fare up to nine years old. Prices change by date and promotion, so check the official ticket page for your day.

Is it cheaper to buy Gardaland tickets online?

Yes. On the day we checked, the dated online ticket was €15 cheaper per adult than the walk-up price, and the same gap applied to the two-day ticket with the aquarium. The ticket offices also close two hours before the park, so late arrivals cannot rely on them.

When is Gardaland open?

The 2026 main season ran from 28 March to 1 November, and Magic Winter runs on selected days from 5 December 2026 to 6 January 2027. Opening and closing times change by date. Dates for 2027 were not published when we checked, so use the park's calendar. For the wider picture see our month-by-month weather guide.

Is there a free shuttle from Peschiera station to Gardaland?

Yes. A free shuttle bus links Peschiera del Garda railway station with the park every 30 minutes on every opening day, starting 30 minutes before opening, and takes about five minutes. The station is 2 km from the gate. Our guide to Lake Garda trains explains how to reach Peschiera from Milan, Verona and Venice.

How much is parking at Gardaland?

The uncovered car park is currently free, according to the park's help centre in October 2026. Only covered spaces are charged, from €7, and they are limited and sold online. The car park opens one hour before the park.

What are the height limits at Gardaland?

Raptor, Oblivion and Blue Tornado need riders to be at least 140 cm, Space Vertigo 130 cm and Shaman 120 cm. Family rides such as Mammut and Jungle Rapids start at 110 cm, and many gentler rides have no minimum if an adult rides too. Limits are posted at each ride and staff can stamp a child's height to avoid repeat checks.

Is the LEGOLAND Water Park included in the Gardaland ticket?

No. The water park is inside Gardaland but needs a combined ticket, or a supplement added to any park ticket at the ticket offices or inside the park. It is open in summer only. Our LEGOLAND Water Park guide explains how it works.

Is Gardaland open when it rains?

Yes. The park stays open in rain and has indoor rides, shows and restaurants. Some attractions can be suspended during thunderstorms, and tickets are not refunded for rain, so an undated ticket is the safer buy if the forecast is poor.
