Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This page lists the cookies Best of Lake Garda uses, and the ones other companies may set through our pages. The short version: we set almost none ourselves, and we run no advertising or analytics cookies.
Cookies we set
Strictly necessary
WordPress, the software the site runs on, uses a handful of technical cookies. For ordinary readers it may set a session cookie to check that your browser accepts cookies. For the people who log in to edit the site it sets login and preference cookies. None of these track you across other websites, and none are used for advertising. They do not need consent because the site cannot work properly without them.
Our hosting provider’s content delivery network may set a short-lived technical cookie for security and load balancing. It contains no personal information.
Analytics, advertising and social media
None. We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool, advertising network or social-media pixel. If we ever add one, this page will change first and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Cookies set by other companies
- Google Maps. Each town page includes a map from Google Maps. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit. These are governed by Google’s cookie policy. If you would rather avoid them, block third-party cookies in your browser; the rest of the page works without the map.
- Google Fonts. Our typefaces are served by Google. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but your browser does send Google your IP address to fetch the files.
- Booking and affiliate partners. When you click a booking link to a hotel, tour or boat-hire partner, that partner’s website may set a cookie so that a later booking is credited to us. That happens on their site, under their cookie policy, not on ours.
How to control cookies
Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and block third-party cookies in particular. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything on this site.
