Camping La Rocca in Bardolino reviewed: eight pitch grades, three heated pools, a 400-metre beach, dogs welcome and the booking fee to know about.
Camping La Rocca, which now calls itself La Rocca Camping Village, is on the lake between Bardolino and Garda. It has been taking campers since 1961 and is on our list of the best Lake Garda camping.
This page covers the pitch grades, the pools and beach, the rules on dogs and the booking terms, all taken from the campsite’s own pages in October 2026.
La Rocca is a mid-sized lakefront village: about 300 pitches in eight grades, mobile homes, seven apartments and a few glamping domes on eight hectares, with three heated pools that stay open all season and more than 400 metres of beach. Book it if you want pool-and-beach camping with Bardolino a 20-minute walk away, or if you have a dog, which is allowed on every pitch.
The catch is the booking terms. There is no public price list, every booking carries a €25 fee, and the fee and deposit are not returned if you cancel.

The campsite describes itself as eight hectares of Mediterranean garden sloping towards the lake, including an old olive grove and a vineyard. It has about 300 pitches, 16 types of mobile home (which it calls maxicaravans), seven apartments and a small glamping area among the olive trees. The campsite’s own organic farm, Rocca del Garda, makes wine, oil and honey, and the wine turns up on the list at the site restaurant.
Beyond the pools there is a spa (Harmonia Spa), a petting farm and animal park, sport and entertainment programmes and a dog grooming area. The campsite’s homepage lists ADAC Superplatz 2024 and ANWB Top 2025 among its recognitions.
Pitches come in eight grades, all for up to six people. Standard pitches are 40 to 70 m² with 6 amps. Power (up to 70 m²) and Power Plus (up to 90 m²) have 10 amps. The four Superior grades have 16 amps and a water connection: Superior (up to 80 m²), Superior Lago (up to 90 m², a few metres from the lake), Superior Lux (up to 130 m², with barbecue) and Superior Aqua (up to 90 m², with a private hot tub). At the top, the Royal SpaGlamp pitch is a fenced 300 m² plot with its own bathroom, sauna and outdoor hot tub. Wi-Fi is included. There are two sanitary blocks, one of them heated with four private bathrooms.
Mobile homes sleep four to seven and run from 29 to 49 m², with names such as Smart, Charme, Roccalux, AquaVista and Gran Deluxe Aqua; several have a lake view and the top ones have a private hot tub. The glamping units are for two: Garda Bubble, Cupola Geo and Cupola GeoSuite, with breakfast included. A winter glamping season runs from 4 December 2026 to 14 February 2027.
There are three heated pools. Smeralda is the newest, near the restaurant, shops and spa. Panorama is in the village area with a view of the lake. The third, the Bellavista hydropool, is new for 2026 and reserved for adults. Two of the three are suitable for children, and there is a separate spray park with water games. The campsite says the pools are open all season; opening hours vary with the time of year.
The beach is more than 400 metres of lakefront, grass or pebble, with a gradual entry into the water, a lakeside promenade and a private pier. For public beaches nearby, such as Cisano or Baia delle Sirene, see our Lake Garda beaches map.
The 2026 season runs from 27 March to 2 November and the 2027 season from 19 March to 1 November. Because the pools are heated and open throughout, the early and late weeks work better here than at sites where the pools close in September. Bardolino’s grape and wine festival falls at the turn of September and October; our Lake Garda events guide has the calendar.
La Rocca does not publish a price list. Its FAQ says prices change too often and the booking office will send a personal quote. Each booking carries a €25 booking fee, and the campsite states that neither the fee nor the deposit is refunded if you cancel, even where cancellation is otherwise free. Dogs are charged a supplement that depends on the season.
Offers and last-minute deals are listed on the campsite’s site, and the 2027 season dates are already published.
The site is on the Gardesana lake road between Bardolino and Garda. The campsite gives 17 km to Peschiera del Garda station, 30 km to Verona Porta Nuova station and 30 km to Verona airport, with Milan Bergamo airport 105 km away. The nearest ATV bus stop is 100 metres from the campsite. See our pages on Verona Airport to Lake Garda and Lake Garda trains for the links.
On foot, the campsite puts the centre of Bardolino at about 20 minutes. Garda is the other way along the lake, roughly 1.5 km by OpenStreetMap routing. Bardolino’s pier is on the Lake Garda ferry network, which saves driving to Sirmione or Lazise in summer.
For children there is the spray park, two family pools, the petting farm and an entertainment programme. Gardaland is about 13 km south by road on OpenStreetMap routing, around 20 minutes by car outside peak traffic.
Dogs are allowed on all pitches and in some mobile homes (Smart, Smart Family, Smart H, Charme 2, Solaria and some Roccalux and AquaGarden units). They can go everywhere on site except the toilet blocks, pool areas and supermarket.
The 2026 season runs from 27 March to 2 November and the 2027 season from 19 March to 1 November. A separate winter glamping season runs from 4 December 2026 to 14 February 2027.
Yes. Dogs are allowed on all pitches and in some mobile homes, including the Smart, Smart Family, Smart H, Charme 2 and Solaria types. They are not allowed in the toilet blocks, pool areas or supermarket, and there is a seasonal supplement.
About 20 minutes on foot to the centre, according to the campsite. Garda is a similar walk in the other direction. Our guide to Bardolino covers what to do when you get there.
Yes. All three pools are heated and the campsite says they are open for the whole season. One of them, the Bellavista hydropool, is for adults only.
The campsite does not publish prices and asks you to request a quote. Every booking has a €25 booking fee, which is not refunded if you cancel. For a sense of what Lake Garda campsites charge in general, see the FAQs on our best Lake Garda camping list.
Yes, but not by train alone. The nearest station is Peschiera del Garda, 17 km away, and an ATV bus stop is 100 metres from the campsite. Our Lake Garda trains guide explains which station to use.
